I'll get to your question, but to point out from your original post where you stated:

"Oddly, in a 2022 audit, the numbers didn't match."

This is incorrect, a fail on your opening argument and not great for your credibility. You've really been all over the place with this.

Now to your question: why don't the registered serial numbers of the newly audited bars match the original bar registered serial numbers?

Short answer is I am not totally sure of how the numbering of gold bars works, but as pointed out, they are fungible. When you get cash out at a bank do you check the serial numbers on the notes are the same you deposited?

What is the assertion you're making that makes the original serial number relevant when the ledger (using BoE serial numbers) matches the RBA records with respect to quantity, quality etc, AS WELL as the equivalent BoE serial number which is tracked centrally? It was audited and met audit requirements. No issues.

    Over to you.
