I think that more transparency is potentially helpful, but if the facts don't fit the desired narrative, then they are quickly dismissed as "fake news" and so it continues.
I'm all for asking questions (I have asked many questions here, all unanswered), but when the answer is "do you own research", how are we ever supposed to encounter what is actually true? Even interpretation of official documentation (often the only evidence available) has been shown not to be sufficient in reaching agreement.
