Yeah sorry mate but I disagree. Shorting is an important part of the Free Market as short traders look to make profits on entities that have become overvalued in the same manner that buyers look to take advantage of undervalued entities. Also short covering begins the rally when they are pushed to cover. The bigger problem with shorting is with the deliberate manipulation of entities by hammering them to force them lower and pushing holders to sell which is what we see in the metals and other entities using derivatives.
