@pete11 Well, for what it's worth, this is what I have done today...

Some may be aware I have contracted to purchase our final home (I'm 67) and settlement is set for 31/10. I am funding it 100% via part of my gold holding.

At 1.44pm I did some TA on the daily NZD chart and the spot price was just about to touch the latest decent trendline as well as the 50 EMA concurrently and the MACD had already crossed. Even though the fundamentals are great at the moment for supporting the price, I decided to stay humble by liquidating about 30% of my property settlement obligations - simply because of the timing. I have about another NZD $250k to finalise the settlement in October but with all my other holdings being way ahead of the game I'm not too worried.
