You use a tool I normally use for markets and determing direction, the exception with gold though is that commercials (i.e., the ones you should be paying attention to) are ALWAYS net long on gold, so you need another way of discerning when they are entering significantly... I won't spill the beans on that, but I've pointed you in the right direction.

I've done backtesting on this and have found that the precious metals markets are special in that regard.
