    Those sorts of charts always start around 2010, ...how about this?

    Dow Jones (excluding re-invested dividends) vs gold since 1981. Gold up a pathetic 271%, meantime the houses I own and rents I've received have made me a fortune.

    Gold's a dud - with no dividend.
