Well, here in NZ - here is the NZD$ Gold / Property Ratio (Median Price) since 2008 (which I keep a close eye on).

Although it is up and down - in 2008 terms, it takes about 200 ounces LESS to buy a median price property now than it did back then.

When I am ready to go back into R/E - I expect to use a lot less than 150 ounces....
