I think more than a few people are puzzling over the timing of this Moody’s downgrading.

It will be interesting to see the White house and the stock and bond markets reaction to this come Monday 19^th of May.

It’s my understanding that some of the more conservative pension funds and some banks are not allowed by their charter to hold anything less than AAA debt.

No idea of the size but it could put a little more pressure on the treasury note selling spree.

It has long been my opinion that the USA dollar had lost around 96% of its purchasing power since 1913 and now Rick Rule is telling folks he expects the dollar to lose another 75% of its value over the next ten years!

There are sorts of numbers being bandied around at the moment and as we know most need to be taken with a decent dose of salt. However, if the USA starts the money printer in earnest once again, they may follow the Zimbabwe trend. With so much uncertainty around at the moment I feel not owning at least some physical gold on hand is not showing good common sense. Probably closer to reckless in my humble opinion.
