I believe that the current surge in the gold price has been brought about mainly by the Central Banks buying big time due to Basel 3 and gold being recognised as a Tier 1 asset . These Basel changes come into effect on July 1. There are many other reasons they are stockpiling gold in unprecedented volumes over the past 6 months due to uncertainty in the markets re: tariffs ,etc., etc.

But , it has not retail investors buying gold on mass at this point , that is yet to come .

Given the current geo political tensions and the shift of world power away from the US and the advent of BRICS nations endeavouring to shift reliance on a currency standard away from the US , this has brought about increased stockpiling of physical gold and silver (in Russia's case) to be used as a world standard for financial transactions in the future. China is building gold holding facilities in various countries for this purpose.

The sleeping elephant imo in this unfolding scenario is Silver with it's fundamentals of supply and demand narrowing on the back of a boom in the electronics AI sector . This coupled with a long term 45 year bullish cup and handle technical formation and the stretching out the gold silver ratio to around 100:1 all deems well for a pressure release over the next few years.

None of what is happening is released by the main stream media and by the time that it does the powers that be and the ultra wealthy have already taken up positions to capitalize on the hard earned dollars that flow in from the retail sector at which point they are already at the exit .

Especially the nonsense about the super rich doing a bit of 'stackin'. That ol' chestnut has been around for decades.

There's no shortage of silver, they dig up more very year.
