Yeah the threat was obviously there but the Iranians might not have expected the attack as "negotiations" were ongoing. They might have thought the attack would be arriving once talks had concluded. A very treacherous move by Trump who is a lying piece of shit but he has fully exposed himself to be completely untrustworthy in any way shape or form. Which is standard fare for the American leadership.
