If your going to compare Gold - an internationally traded commodity to house prices then one cannot cherry pick New Zealand or Sydney for that matter.
Luckily the IMF does put out a Global House Prices Index which I will attach below:
With this in mind feel free to compare global data to gold and I think you would have very little to say for yourself.
