I am buying EUR selling AUD this week, mainly because I have to pay for groceries next week.

With respect to shorting the S&P500...
... I have been over weight equities for eight years and counting. Every time I think about jumping off, I am reminded of how much money has jumped off already and is trying to jump back on.

Meanwhile, gold is playing in its own game. On one sider there is a supply overhang, and on the other side there concerns about the Trump presidency. It seems to be range bound between the two.
