Here's where we fundamentally disagree. You believe capital can be regulated where I don't. Unless you have a hard limit on currency, like a Gold standard, I think banks will always find a way to lend and borrowers will always find a way to borrow, and both will find a way around regulations. Look at what happened with the rating agencies. And what about Governments who always manage to borrow as much as they need and will spend it unproductively? So, I disagree that the bandaid asset to capital ratio restrictions will make one iota of difference.
