I get the two sides of the argument, but historically GOLD rally's when the dollar falls, just the way it is. I think that although the value of Gold as a commodity can be somewhat stagnant at moments, it's still ran by the same things that run the rest of the markets, fear and greed. So, what I do is try and find smaller companies with proper fundamentals, and management teams to invest in. You know thos stocks will pop at a much higher level percentage wise when Gold has even a small run.. Hence, the report I posted above
