Hi Folks

What a fascinating night! On the FOMC announcement gold jumped more than $10 in a few minutes sending all the shorters scrambling. I had suggested a drop and then resumption of bull trend. I was WRONG! It seems the market had really priced in the rate move and the market makers jumped the shorts on the announcement and they were burnt comprehensively.

DXY went down 101.57 to 100.59. Yen up over 1% against the USD. Maybe an early indictor was the bullish AUD which was well up before the announcement, and also trades as a safe haven (at times) like the Yen.

JNUG up over 30%!!!!! Silver up 2.74%

Next stop US employment numbers late tonight 11.30pm AEST
