Major swing points of XAUAUD, not the best definition of an up trend. Your gold miners valuation is not based on a 15 year trend but where that gold price has been falling since the top last year. If you have a 15 year period hold than a month is just a spec or blemish of that valuation, meaningless.

From this perspective I don't see an uptrend but a bullish trend reversal in the making with no guarantee it can break all the overhead resistance.

Have a look at the big tail of the USDX daily formed yesterday that started as if it was crashing through the key support level. I posted yesterday that I "suspect" a bull stop raid and it is playing out. Ditto SP500/DJ30, even a mild pullback wasn't that easy to find fame with loads of dip buyers stepping in regardless of a Trump healthcare bill defeat.
