Thats the beauty of gold imo. Say fiat dies and bitcoin succeeds as the new global currency (I don't personally see this because bitcoin is extremely inefficient) gold will be un-pegged from USD and instead pegged to bitcoin of coarse because of bitcoins inefficiency to enable fast cheap and multiple transactions the banks would need to trade bit coins on the futures CME in order to short gold which would be priced in bitcoin. Then again under this senario the banks would seize to exist in the first place if this were to ever eventuate. lols
