Just with everything there's a cycle but it does have a place i think.I used to fly lots of large RC planes and Helicopters and the ni-cad batteries where so heavy and not much power compared to the new lipo batteries they use now,much more lighter more power faster charging.For my helis it would cost $300-400 Aud for one battery pack,That only gets me about 7-8mins of some hard smack 3d flight timeObviously gotta have more than one pack to fly on the weekends so would have 10 packs on average Bit over 3500g's just to have some playtime.And there would be a bunch of us flying at the club the value of batts in the group of RC nerds would have roughly been about 50g's worth of lipo's out in the park.
