A gold bar is 400 oz. So the US holdings equate to 653,818.32 bars (261,527,331.19/400).
A bar is 24.5cm long, 8.45cm wide and 4cm thick.
In a floor space of 25sqm you could fit 102 long, and 295 across...a bit to spare in both dimensions. So, in 25sqm (i.e. a medium to large rumpus room) you can lay out 30,090 bars. Now build the stack 21 high, and put the residual on top....and we're talking 88cm at its tallest.
That's gold's density of value.
Now double those measurements and you are well over the value of Apple by your count (and I'm talking by over $124bn). And you would not even fill half of the first floor of the Apple store here in Pitt street, Sydney.
Valued conceptually, I prefer gold.
[And someone please pull my maths apart.......well over half of Apple in a 25sqm???]

What does 'valued conceptually' mean? Most people know all that boring stuff about gold, but I'm pretty sure that AAPL has beaten gold by a massive margin.
