Fudley - I have both. In storage commercially and also held privately with easy access. Currently split 50/50 or so. That's just how it developed over time. I can amend that quickly if need be. Split gold/silver also based on personal preference. Skidoo's onto the Chinese love of silver also. Don't ignore this in the short to medium term. Interesting to watch post end of March.
Then I hold/trade also PM shares which will give you the big bang for buck coming out of the next GFC like event. Herd mentality will ensure it imo. Not a fan of PM ETFs.
Gold for me is just a part of any personal asset structure to ensure you stay afloat when the next crunch is engineered by those who just cannot help themselves in the theft of others assets. I include governments in that growing list.
