One can always point to a singular 'situation' to counter argue. There is no doubt in my mind that the world is increasing in wealth. It is a fact.

Anecdotally, look around you. When I travel I see wealth (phone, cars, houses, trains, computers, planes, leisure facilities) where I once saw poverty.

No 'playing' with paper money can produce real wealth - infrastructure, food, shelter, education, health. That is the product of man's ingenuity and it grows year on year.

The world is a better place and it will be exponentially better in another 10 years (assuming no natural apocalyptic event)

None of that has much to do with gold - it's just wrong to think of the world is going to ruin as a reason to hold gold, I think!
