    Proof positive that gold bars are one of the worst investments on the planet. As some (but not most) here know, timing the market is extraordinarily difficult and has more to do with good luck than good judgement.

    This chart is from Jan 1, 1896 until today.

    Gold up 6,491%, DJIA (which does NOT include reinvested dividends) up 75,251%.
