Russia didn't have many US$s to begin with and they've sold a lot so they can't have much left.
It's surprising to me that so many gold bugs are obsessed about the exchange rate of gold to the fiat currencies that they spend so much time denegrating. If the US$ or A$ become worthless (which may happen) then the gold to $ ratio will be huge but meaningless.
