On a number of occasions you have quoted your brother in law who is or was a “Financial Planner’ (God help us) to ‘prove’ that something you believe is also believed by him, so it must be true. You now quote your wife’s opinion on Altzheimer’s disease and believe it ‘because she is a nurse’. The first page of The How to Think Critically book tells the reader that Anecdotal thinking is about the worst fault there is and there is plenty of studies to show that this is indeed the case.
Altzheimers is highly complex genetically. Early onset Alzheimer’s is a very small percentage of all cases and it is indeed genetically determined. The common late onset types much more complex with genetic influences being generally highly variable.
