A lot of so called "goldbugs" are actually not gold holders. They hold gold explorer shares (which is no different from any other stock market papers), not physical gold. Many of this tiny explorers have collaped massively after the innitial pump & profit taking era. Most of them are ordinary blokes & they are not trained in strategic trading system that involes cut losses & capital management. So, they have no choice but to stick to this gold explorer sector for a long long time, hoping to break even oneday. Conspiracy theory is just like a soothing positive story just to keep their positive minds going. That's the psychology behind it.
