    The US government debt is not good, productive debt that supports science and tech, innovation or education. It won't help future earning capacity. It pays for defence, health care and welfare. That's 70% of your tax bill right there and these components are growing fast, especially healthcare. Not sustainable. The only unknown is how much longer it can last.
