Well they have literally infinite amounts of fiat money, so they might well be able to go on capping and bombing indefinitely. But in any case in the long run we are all dead anyway and most investors are concerned about what will happen in the next few months or years. And there is no reason why THEY couldn't keep manipulating the price of gold lower for many more years if THEY really wanted to.
