Australia's debt to GDP ratio is around 45% compared to the US at around 106%. Although Australian's household debt is right up there with the US which will have significant impacts on our economy in the near future.
It's usually the economic powerhouses that have the worst debt to GDP ratio which why the reserve currency changes hand every 100 years or so. It's bloody expensive to stay at the top. My tip is China will take over
