Inflation and rates are complex concepts. Inflation can be good or bad depending on the underlying reason. Fundamentally a degree of inflation is preferable to induce spending that feeds the economy, jobs and growth.

How the market reacts at any given moment is not a mirror image of the economy at large. That is self evident, just looking at big market index % swings month to month demonstrates that. The economy is a very slow moving machine - it can take a year or more for a policy decision to have real impact on the upside and downside. Yet, markets continually try and predict plus undoubtedly a degree of structural positioning that can fool the unwary by today's 'price' .
