Or possibly there was a cross-trade on the paper-gold ETF, with a dump of billions of gold in value being matched with a buy.

It would be interesting to know who the parties are that were involved in this, and if it was the usual London based suspects who were fined some years back for manipulating the LIBOR (gold).

And there are still ignorant fools who say the gold price (via paper-gold ETFs) is not manipulated.

The creation of paper-gold derivatives was one of the great criminal acts of the 20th century IMHO, because it enabled corporate criminals of the highest order to effectively make air = gold. In other words, they were allowed to create gold out of thin air, rather than digging it up out of the ground.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on the news channels and see if we can find some news on today's paper-g0ld ETF price price plunge and immediate jump back up.
