    Safe-haven demand and dovish central bank expectations have sparked fund buying of precious metals in recent months. Long gold positions in ETFs rose to a new all-time high of 2,825.69 MT on Thursday, the highest since the data series began in 2002. Also, long silver positions in ETFs rose to a new record high of 648.874 million ounces on Tuesday.
