there hasn’t been any inflation for the last decade and the price of gold has increased. You have 10yrs of data which shows there is no correlation to your belief gold moves with inflation.
gold price also does well when there is a debasement of currency. Gold is a store of value so more fiat currency being supplied the less fiat is worth so gold is worth more in fiat terms
