It is a sure thing that very little of the QE money went into the real economy, regardless of which Nation was doing the 'printing'. Not really printing per se as it is mostly electronic/digital money in the first instance.
Anyway, all types of markets soaked up this QE. None more so than the derivatives markets across the boards. What is that latest very scary figure nowadays? I read the other day that it was over $550 trillion USD worth. That is insane!
$550,000,000,000,000 USD............... it boggles the mind.
$550 trillion USD being gambled on paper. Hardly a 'primary' or 'secondary' economic dollar of value though. It is called "financialisation" and it is placing the World in a high risk state of counter party failure causing domino effects across all sorts of markets. None the less being the credit markets.
The financialisation across the World has farked up the fundamentals. It has caused good news to be bad news and vice versa. I defy anybody to know exactly what is happening or what is in store or how all this will be unraveled. It is an accident waiting to happen.
Don't panic Mr Mainwaring, cool heads will prevail. Won't they?
Cheers
