    I would be concerned if the Federal reserve switched from the current QE program to purchasing Gold. To me, this would be seen as a giant white flag saying the current methods of QE have failed and there are no other options left. Since, the vaule of currency has a component of trust or cofidence this would certainly, demish the confidence in the US Dollar.
