Could someone help explain to me the ultimate goal of the trolls...

Could someone help explain to me the ultimate goal of the trolls on these threads? Obviously they are being compensated somehow for their efforts as they are relentless and have been continuous over the last 10 years SKOL for example. But what is their agenda? To cast doubt in punters minds and try prevent a great rise in asset prices?? I'm a little confused.
