The name of the game in regards to gold/silver from these guys is to rattle the cage as much as possible in an attempt to force investors out before the turn. The more they rattle and induce higher volatility the closer we are to the low.
Smaller time frame volatility is certainly being introduced more and more which does indicate the lack of ability or desire (in case of bullion losses due to delivery) to make major smashes. The latest silver attack has completely failed and a move above the smash high is going to be very interesting as the fraudsters will fight with everything they have got to defend that price from being exceeded which is $30.10 on spot.
The long end is irrelevant to gold. Its certainly relevant to balance sheets though.
The war rages on and its intensifying so we shall see.

They will try to cap long rates concealing the fiat Ponzi US$ scheme, until they lose control and reality bights.
