    The increasing value of gold does equal a good part of growing wealth,

    Gold is not "increasing in value".

    How is gold "increasing in value" when in 1980 it was about US$3,000 inflation-adjusted, and now it's US$1,870?

    Property generates wealth and an income, gold does SFA.
