Why do you have so much interest in engaging in this very prolonged "discussion" on the topic of gold.I ask this question, as I am intrigued by peoples strong commitment to a matter and cause would like to know the reasons.
=========================An interesting question, one which I've been asked, and answered, many, many times before.
I was dabbling in a couple of miners around 2007/2008 and as the gold price spiked higher and higher I started to get a little nervous around the US$1,300 mark and said I believed it was due for a serious correction.
Of course I was wrong, because as we all now know, manias always go on for a lot longer than everyone thinks they will.
I mean who could possibly believe that BTC, which does nothing, makes nothing and produces nothing, could get to US$65,000? Goldbugs on HC lampooned and rubbished me for my scepticism about the gold price as it spiked vertically, and told me to stick around, because it was going to go to unheard-of heights.
It got to about US$1920 and crashed, wiping out lots of suckers, and since that time there's been several tranches of goldbugs try their luck here and then disappear after getting their fingers burned.
It's a lesson in human nature, believe me, there's still goldbugs here that subscribe too, and believe the scammers that tell them gold's going to US$10,000/$20,000 and even US$165,000.
So gullible.
