1. Shares do way better than gold, it's a proven fact, I've proved it here dozens of times. Shares mostly don't 'disappear', they're taken over or rationalised, stock markets have been around for thousands of years. Lloyds of London for example has been around since 1686.

2. Gold isn't 'money'....and that's a fact. This is 'money'. Let me know next time you buy something with a gold bar.

As a matter of fact I bought a block of land in 1995 for five ozs of au, and recently sold some parts for half a kg of ag, amongst others.
Now give me an example of where you swapped a share certificate for something....
