Gold 'traders' as you call them wouldn't 'stack' gold bars, which many here do. 'Stackin' is expensive and a waste of time as you say, but going to a gold dealer and trading is expensive as well, they skin suckers alive.
The only way to trade to minimise the costs is to trade ETF's, but goldbugs deride this strategy as 'paper gold'.
