Well I've owned a lot of properties, and two of them I've owned for decades.
And I haven't lost money on them, I've made a killing. I built a house for 140k in 1987 and now it's worth $1.3m + 34 years of rent.
I also sold a factory 18 months ago, I owned it for 34 years as well, but got rid of it because if its age - 34 years of rent + a 'stack' of capital gain.
So much for "if someone steadfastly buys and holds for decades or even years, they are sure to lose a lot of their money".
Warren Buffett holds for years. He's not poor, is he?
Maybe you should preach to the goldbugs here with their tiny 'stacks', because that's what they do...hold for years.
