How relevant is that to anyone under the average wage? Then I recall once when we refinanced (about 20 years ago) because our interest rate was constantly a fixed % higher than that quoted by the bank and worked out the financial planner we used (private) was getting a kickback. So maybe it is relevant. If you look at the BLS CPI website they are soon to rejig the CPI calculation. Have not looked into it.
