People don't 'invest' in USD, they buy things with them.

And compared to them it's a lousy bet. In fact it's so bad that anyone planning their retirement 'stacking' gold bars is committing themselves to life of relative poverty, unless they get very lucky and manage to unload it at the very top of a spike like 2011.

Where was I comparing gold to USD, I simply re-posted a twitter post that I came across in the day that was in line with anothers posters comment.

You have a bad habbit of trying to post words into other posters posts.
