This is correct, as in a crash, people get hit with margin calls. Therefore they cash in their most liquid assets such as gold and bitcoin. Gold will long term benefit from a breakdown of this fiat money fiasco however (probably why people hope for a crash).
Gold is not an investment (it doesnt generate returns). Gold is an inflation hedge, and that is why it's good to hold at moment. gltah
