I am old enough to have experienced the the dot com bust although I only had very passive stock holding for the sake of it. The standard buy and forget method. GFC was my first taste of destruction! I am not blind to another one but I am also not prepping for the inevitable as no one really knows. If one starts to anticipate, those scared money will only find homes in a cash a/c earning pittance! This not a sustainable strategy unless I can live off comfortably on 1.75% interest pa. I don't have $5Mil in the bank

So with the Syd property red hot, I read from SMH that the rate cut has generated a lot of enquiries in apts so new life is blown to the bubble. What bubble? There is potentially 175 basis points pressure pump?

Turnbull playing politics so you won't see him touching the negative gearing issue since it is his voters benefiting, duh!

It will be interesting to see if my educated guess from this week's price action on the USDX is indicative of the NFP number and to use this gauge for future guesses.

Australia has one of the highest property ownership in the world, if I'm not mistaken 25% is fully owned. Unlike US, there are more population than housing supply here. The rate of migrations & birth rate also massive here.
