Yeah-so what ? What's that go to do with the specific thrust of your post re the book/author, rising USD and gold/bugs etc ? Separate issue entirely.
But now you raise it, a fatuous argument as anyone can trot out any number of examples of superior returns (the point I think you're trying to make ?) from any number of other markets/asset prices after the event.
