Could be wrong but I feel Silver rise has more to do with the progress of Solid state battery technology by Samsung and Sony where Samsun uses Silver with Lithium in a solid state which had seen serious battery capacity and cycle increases -

Bit of triva for ya , this old man, Mr goodenough) not only invented Lithium IOn batteries but also RAM (random access memory) both of which enabled significant changes to everyday lives. I think he was in his late 90's recently when he and his team came up with the Solid state battery as he wanted to improve the shortcomings of Lithium ion......
Anyhoooo, think its (silver) price rises has alot to do with this resent surge in battery tech which may come to commercialization rather than simply following gold
