Read the post again... I'm answering someone's question as to why anyone would buy US bonds. I say "why wouldn't anyone buy US bonds?"
Because they're the safest investment on the planet....that's why. It's the deepest and most liquid fixed income market in the world, backed by the power of the USA, which goldbugs predicted would be 'bankrupt' years ago, even though there's no procedure to bankrupt a nation.
