Been thinking a bit deeper into the whole gold market and by extension the gold mining sector.
How could the physical market and gold mining equities change their cuck / dominator relationship with the futures market.
With gold miners strong margins and cashflows, what would happen if the worlds largest 10 to 20 producers worldwide held back 30 percent of their ounces produced as equity instead of having excess cash in the bank?
They would be fundamentally backing their own product!
What if M&A was to dramatically ramp up with many companies increasing their production profiles through consolidation? Wouldn't there be exceptional rewards for all concerned with the resulting re-ratings?
Explorer turns into Small Producer
Small Producer turns into Medium Producer
Medium Producer turns into Large Producer
How about miners attracting the millennial money by placing 10 percent of their reserves into crypto's. Pretty good marketing, particularly if you're the first.
Would love to see more miners market themselves to new money better by creating a much stronger presence on social media through the likes of Facebook, YouTube, Telegram, Twitter, Instagram etc.
The gold physical market and mining industry seems as though it needs a complete reboot to appeal to new investors in the 21st century.
Can't really see an end to manipulation without some sort of a catalyst.
