Its also worth pointing out that in that period, bond yields have declined 90% as bonds prices have risen 90% whilst gold prices have risen 560% (see rhs scale)
Clearly, gold has been a better bet than hanging onto USD via treasuries
One thing I can agree with you though, is that Oil and Gas is a very good buy at the moment.
